We’re heading into our second season of the Bambird Scramble and can’t wait to keep playing matches throughout Northeast Florida while growing this incredible mahjong community. Part of a flexible, social league hosted in 99 cities nationwide, the Bambird Scramble makes it easy to play more mahjong, meet new people, and schedule matches that fit your life.

Our inaugural summer season brought nine weeks of nonstop mahjong, new friendships, lots of laughs, and matches popping up everywhere from Jacksonville to Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine. We played at local businesses, around kitchen tables, by the pool and everywhere in between—and built a community that couldn’t stop finding reasons to get together and mahj.

How the Bambird Scramble Works
We use Mahj in the City’s custom Bambird Scramble portal where all of us will be proposing and joining matches that we want to play! Throughout Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra + St. Augustine, you play the matches that are nearest to you and meet more mahj friends! No need to travel far. And you can play after work. Super simple!
What is the Bambird Scramble?
Mahjong in the Sun is proud to bring the Bambird Scramble to Northeast Florida, partnering with Mahj in the City out of Charlotte to give our community an easy, flexible way to play more mahjong and make new connections.
The Bambird Scramble is a 9-week social mahjong league built around your schedule. Using the league’s custom portal, players can propose matches anytime and anywhere, join games that work for them, track scores, and follow the leaderboard throughout the season. There’s no set weekly game night—you simply play when and where it works for you.
After an incredible first season, we’re excited to continue growing the Scramble throughout Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine, connecting even more players and local venues along the way.
