Sunset Mahj Wednesdays
Make Wednesday nights your new favorite mahjong tradition! Sunset Mahj Wednesdays are our weekly hosted mahjong nights at Really Good Beer Stop in Nocatee, Florida, featuring friendly competition, weekly prizes, monthly leaderboards, and plenty of opportunities to meet new mahj friends. Come with your crew or come solo—we’ll get you seated for a fun night of mahjong, community, and a little friendly competition.
Friday Mahj Club
Friday Mahj Club is where Mahjong in the Sun began—a simple idea to create a free weekly gathering where people could connect, play mahjong, and build community. Every Friday from 12–3 PM at Really Good Beer Stop in Nocatee, Florida, players walk in, grab a table, and settle in for an afternoon of mahj, friendships, and fun.
Now, we’re inviting local businesses and brands to become part of the community, connecting with our players through event sponsorships, social content, giveaways, and creative partnerships that help local businesses grow right alongside us.

Mahjong in the Sun + Pickleball in the Sun are taking over Saddlebrook Resort for a weekend of mahjong, pickleball, pool time, resort dining, prizes + a little friendly competition.
The highlight of the weekend is Saturday’s Saddlebrook Mahjong Getaway Championship, where players will compete throughout the day for the ultimate grand prize:

Hosted by Mahjong in the Sun
Join us for Sunset Mahj Wednesday, Mahjong in the Sun’s new weekly hosted mahjong experience at Really Good Beer Stop Nocatee!
Sunset Mahj Wednesdays are designed to take the guesswork out of finding people to play with. Reserve your seat, show up and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll organize players by experience level, host four games throughout the evening and keep track of scores as you play your way onto our monthly Sunset Mahj leaderboard.
Come on your own, bring a friend or bring your whole mahj crew. The goal is to play great games, meet new people and make Wednesday nights something you look forward to every week.

Really Good Beer Stop will have pizza, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase throughout the evening. Grab dinner, order your favorite drink and settle in for a night of mahjong.

$20 per player / $15 per player if you’re registered for the Bambird Scramble
Your ticket reserves your seat for the August 19 experience. Space is limited based on available mahjong tables, so advance registration is encouraged.
Who Should Attend?
Sunset Mahj Wednesdays are for players who already know the basics of American Mahjong and can play independently. You do not need to be an expert or competitive player!
Newer players, social players and experienced players are all welcome, and we’ll do our best to seat players with others at a similar experience level.

Join the Mahjong in the Sun team at Saddlebrook Resort for a fun, social introduction to American Mahjong. Whether you've never picked up a tile before or have played a little and want to feel more confident around the table, Mahjong 101 will give you the foundation you need to start playing.
Our team will walk you through the game in a welcoming, hands-on setting — from understanding the tiles and National Mah Jongg League card to Charleston, game play and putting it all together for your first games.
No prior mahjong experience is necessary.

Join Mahjong in the Sun for the signature experience of our Saddlebrook weekend: The Saddlebrook Mahjong Getaway Championship — a full day of mahjong, friendly competition, resort time, prizes + plenty of fun, all leading up to one incredible grand prize:

Come with friends or come solo and settle in for an afternoon of hosted play with the Mahjong in the Sun team. Every player will play 12 games of American Mahjong, with scores tracked throughout the day and plenty to play for until the very last tile.
You don't need to be a tournament player — this is a social competition designed to bring people together for a really fun day of mahjong + resort life.
To kick off the day, players will be assigned to tables based on experience level, so you’ll start the Championship playing alongside others at a similar pace. From there, table assignments will shift throughout the day based on scores as we move through the Championship rounds.
The Championship Format
ROUND 1 | 4 Games
Everyone begins with four scored games of American Mahjong, with scores recorded throughout the round.
ROUND 2 | 4 Games
Players will then be seeded based on their Round 1 scores for another four-game round.
FINAL ROUND | 4 Games
After eight games, the Top 4 players advance to the Championship Table for four final games and the chance to become our Saddlebrook Mahjong Getaway Champion.

Didn't make the Championship Table? You're not done yet!
Everyone else will be reseeded to play four more games amongst fellow players, with scores tracked for a special Final Round prize.
That means everyone plays 12 games — and everyone has something to play for through the final round!
Plus, we'll have additional prizes, raffles + surprises throughout the day.

Because around here, we believe in pickleball in the morning + mahjong in the afternoon.
Championship guests can choose to join the Pickleball in the Sun crew from 8:00–10:00 AM for complimentary social pickleball before we hit the mahjong tables.
Whether you're an experienced pickleball player or just want to get out on the courts and have some fun, it's completely optional and designed to be a social start to the day.
Hospitality suites will be available after pickleball so you can shower, freshen up + get ready for the Championship.
Prefer to skip pickleball? No problem — arrive ready to mahj at 11:30 AM!
Staying for the Weekend?
Make a weekend of it at Saddlebrook Resort!
After the Championship wraps at 5 PM, overnight guests can keep the tiles going with us for Sunset Poolside Mahj.
Grab a drink, enjoy the pool + resort, and settle in for even more mahjong as the sun goes down.
Then we'll do it all over again Sunday morning with optional pickleball + Breakfast Mahj before wrapping up our Saddlebrook weekend.
