Join us Saturday, September 12 from 11 AM–3 PM inside air-conditioned Harbour Hall at VyStar Ballpark, overlooking right field at the home of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.
Whether you’re already registered for the Fall Bambird Scramble, want to learn more about joining, are looking for new people to play with, or are brand new to mahjong, we have a ticket option for you.
And when our kickoff ends? Stay for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp game and keep the mahj going in the outfield!

We’re bringing together players from Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine for an afternoon designed to help you connect with your fellow Scramblers before our Fall season begins on September 14.
One of the best parts of the Bambird Scramble is that you create your own schedule. There’s no set weekly league night—you coordinate matches with other players and play when and where it works for you.
This kickoff is your chance to meet players face-to-face, pull up the Bambird portal and start getting matches on your calendar before the season even begins!

We’re kicking off the Fall Northeast Florida Bambird Scramble season with an afternoon of mahjong, lunch, new connections and plenty of time to start filling up your match calendar!
Join Mahjong in the Sun inside air-conditioned Harbour Hall, overlooking right field at VyStar Ballpark, home of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. It’s the perfect setting to meet fellow Scramblers from Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine before the Fall season officially begins on September 14.

Already registered for the Bambird Scramble? Come meet more of the players you’ll be scrambling with this fall, play some mahj and start scheduling matches directly in the Bambird portal. Bring your calendar and leave with some of your season matches already on the books!
Thinking about joining the Scramble? This is also a great opportunity to meet the community, learn how the social league works and see why so many Northeast Florida mahjong players are joining in.
Throughout the afternoon, we’ll have open play, scorekeeping practice and prizes for our top players. New to mahjong? Choose the Mahjong 101 ticket and learn the game with an instructor so you’re ready to start playing and eventually join the Scramble.

The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp play their final home game of the season that evening, so we're making a full day of Mahjong in the Outfield!

Earlier this summer, we took Mahjong in the Sun out to the public tables in the outfield, and we’re doing it again. Head to the Tiki Terrace, grab one of the public tables early and keep playing mahjong while enjoying the game. NOTE: These are not reserved tables so you will need to enter the gates early at 5:05pm when they open in order to grab one of the public tables for your mahj!

Jumbo Shrimp game tickets are purchased separately and are not included with the $50 Open Play or $80 Mahjong 101 tickets.

Join us for a Mahjong 101 lesson during the Northeast Florida Bambird Scramble Fall Season Kickoff inside air-conditioned Harbour Hall overlooking right field at VyStar Ballpark.
Our instructors will teach you the basics of American Mahjong and play alongside you as you learn, so you can start building your confidence and get ready to join our growing Northeast Florida mahjong community.

The September 12 Kickoff Party is just one of many opportunities we’ll have to bring our Northeast Florida Bambird Scramble community together throughout the Fall season. This date was selected to celebrate the weekend before our September 14 season kickoff and coincide with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp’s final home weekend so players could also enjoy Mahjong in the Outfield.
We recognize that this date may conflict with Rosh Hashanah and other personal or family commitments. Attendance is completely optional and is not required to participate in the Bambird Scramble. We’ll be hosting additional meetups and group play opportunities throughout the season across Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine, so there will be plenty of chances to meet fellow Scramblers, schedule matches and play together.
